Built for Privacy.
Powered by AI.
Your Background Remover is a free tool that removes image backgrounds with high precision, offering on-device and high-speed cloud AI processing with complete privacy, no accounts, and no limits.
Our Mission
We believe powerful creative tools should be free and private forever. Every other background remover either charges you, uploads your photos to their servers, or limits your downloads. We built something different: a tool that offers on-device browser processing alongside fast cloud acceleration, keeping your photos 100% private with zero data retention.
How We're Different
- 100% Free, Forever: No subscription tiers, no watermarks, no download limits.
- 100% Private: Choose on-device processing where photos never leave your browser, or fast cloud AI with strict zero data retention. We never store or sell your photos.
- No Login Required: Open the tool, upload an image, get a result. That's it.
- HD Downloads: Export full-resolution PNG files with transparency, every time.
The Technology
We combine state-of-the-art WebAssembly and WebGPU for in-browser processing with optional high-speed cloud inference, giving you the flexibility of complete offline capability or accelerated server processing.
Open Source AI Attribution
Our background removal relies on the BiRefNet architecture, based on open-source research by Zheng Peng et al. ("Bilateral Reference Network for High-Resolution Dichotomous Image Segmentation") and ported to ONNX by Studio Ludens.
BiRefNet is published under the permissive MIT License, authorizing full personal and commercial use. The complete copyright notice, permission grant, and disclaimers are preserved in our Terms of Service.
Who Built This
Your Background Remover was built by a small team of engineers and designers who were frustrated with the existing landscape of paywalled, privacy-invasive image tools. We're hobbyists, developers, and creators who wanted a better option, so we built it and made it free for everyone.
